Remake of the classic Castle Doombad game
Castle Doombad Classic is a premium strategy game developed by Grumpyface Studios. It's a remake of the classic medieval tower defense puzzler that came out for mobile in 2014. In it, roles are reversed, and players take on the role of villains trying to defend their evil lair against heroes trying to invade them.
Compared to the original Castle Doombad: Free To Slay game, the new Castle Doombad Classic brings various gameplay improvements and expands its universe with new content for players to experience. They can check out the demo version in anticipation of its release on December 13, 2024.
Roles reversed
In Castle Doombad Classic, you play Dr. Lord Evilstein, who kidnaps a princess and imprisons her in your evil tower. Heroes have been called upon and sent to your domain in order to rescue the damsel held hostage. You must now prepare for their arrival and siege by putting up various defenses and doing whatever it takes to prevent their march.
Take on waves of enemies across 70 stages as you send minions to defend your castle against intruders. You can also employ over 30 traps to hinder their progress and 150 upgrades to unlock. Apart from the main campaign, there are daily challenges and an endless mode to see how long you can last against never-ending waves. Take advantage of the new accessibility options to customize the gameplay experience.
What's more, the game features achievements to complete and trading cards to collect that help with replayability, with more new content to come in future updates. As of this writing, the game is not out yet but there are only a few days left before it does so that wait won't be for much longer. Watch out for its release and dive right in.
A solid remake
If you played the original release or just want to experience what the gameplay is like, Castle Doombad Classic is a solid remake of an already pretty good tower defense game. From the varied and challenging gameplay to the interesting anti-hero theme, this is just a lot of fun to play. Keep an eye out for its official release. Recommended.
